My Journey: A Career Dedicated to UK Businesses

My path to becoming The Knowledge Centre Guy was forged over two decades in the trenches of small business marketing, based in Warwickshire and serving clients across the UK.

I built my first website in 1998 and, after graduating with First Class Honours, I dived straight in, helping businesses get results online while Google was still in its infancy.

In 2007, I founded my own agency because I saw too many business owners being let down by web agencies that didn’t understand their world.

And that’s a key point: I’m not a consultant who has spent a career in large corporations. I have spent my entire career—since 2002—living and breathing the challenges and opportunities of ambitious UK businesses. This deep expertise has led to me becoming a trusted advisor not just for individual companies, but for entire industries.

When The Kbsa, the UK’s leading association for Independent Kitchen Retailers, needed expert guidance on their digital strategy, they came to me.

But the “aha!” moment of my career came in 2019 when I discovered the philosophy of They Ask, You Answer (which was to become ‘Endless Customers’).

It was a lightning bolt that articulated the exact truth I had been observing for a decade: the secret to growth wasn’t just more marketing; it was a fundamental shift towards becoming the most trusted teacher in your space.

I realised that the Knowledge Centres I had been building since 2013 could bring great success on a large scale to UK businesses.

From that moment, my professional mission was clear.

I pivoted from being a generalist to a dedicated specialist, and I’m incredibly proud that over 15 years later, I still work with some of my very first clients—a testament to the lasting partnerships and results we build together.
